| Safe Tips for Litter Clean-Up
- Stay mentally alert at all times and work in safe areas. Be
mindful of traffic.
- Do not pick up any sharp objects, e.g. needles, syringes, metal,
broken glass, etc.
- Do not pick up any objects that cannot be identified. Flag them
for pick up by Public Works staff.
- Work in daylight hours.
- Do not work in ravine areas or near water channels or water
bodies.
- Wear hats, sunscreen and protective clothing, e.g. boots and
gloves.
- Drink lots of fluids while you work, especially on hot humid
days.
- Avoid over-exertion and beware of special needs of fellow volunteers.
