Large Appliance / Large Metal Collection
REMINDER: ONE WINDOW CONTACT ONLY
All appointments must be made through the Property Manager or designate. The City will not accept appointment requests made by individual residents/tenants/owners.
- The City of Vaughan collects designated Large Appliances and Large Metal Items BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. The Owners / Property Managers (as opposed to the resident) MUST contact the City of Vaughan to arrange for an appointment. Call Public Works 905-832-8562 to make an appointment.
- There IS a charge for this service.
- Collection services for these materials are typically provided ONCE EVERY WEEK.
- ONLY items that have been scheduled for collection, and approved by the City, will be collected.

- The City reserves the right to refuse overweight and / or oversized items.

Booking and Payment

In Person: You may attend the City of Vaughan
Public Works Department situated at the Joint Operations Centre
at 2800 Rutherford Rd. between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday
through Friday.
Accepted in-person payments are: cash, cheque,
Visa, American Express, MasterCard or Direct Debit.

By Phone: You can call the City of Vaughan
Public Works Department at 905-832-8562 between 8:30 a.m.
and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Accepted phone payments
are: Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

By Mail: You may mail-in a request for pick up, along with a cheque payable to the 'City of Vaughan'. The written request must include the following information: Your name and phone number, address and types and quantity of appliances to be picked up. Once received, the City will contact you with the scheduled appointment date and confirmation number.

Refund policy:
Cancellations are accepted if made by 12:00 p.m. the day before
your scheduled collection. For example; if your scheduled
pick up day is Thursday, a refund request MUST be made
by Wednesday before 12:00 p.m. Requests for cancellation/refunds that are not made
within the aforementioned timeframe WILL NOT be accepted and
no refund will be granted. Appliance(s) must be set out according
to the City's waste collection by-law.
An administration fee of $6.00 per appliance unit applies to all approved cancellations and refunds. |

For everyone's safety, residents are required to remove the doors of fridges, stoves, freezers and lockable large appliances.

Alternative Disposal Options:

If the appliance is in good working order, consider giving it to a charity or family in need.

Residents may take their appliances to York Region’s Community Environmental Centre located in Vaughan at 130 McCleary Court (refer to adjacent map)”. |

If purchasing a new appliance, determine if the retail outlet(s) provides a 'disposal / take away' option. |

Private scrap metal dealers may also take appliances at a reduced rate. |
