In March 2010, Vaughan Council adopted a Council Member Expense Policy to guide the expenditures that support Members of Council in performing their various roles and representing their constituents. The policy is intended to:
• Provide Councillors with the ability to allocate resources in the most efficient way to meet their own particular requirement.
• Identify the process that Councillors and their staff use to administer their budgets.
• Recognize Councillors’ accountability for managing City resources allocated to them; and,
• Provide specific and clear direction regarding diverse expenses, including clarifying what expenses are “eligible”, “ineligible” along with some narrative. |
