7 POLICY REVIEW
Purpose:
The Highway 7 Study is a comprehensive evaluation of the planning
and development opportunities along Highway 7, which also identifies
key development areas and proposed amendments to several planning
documents. The Jane/7 Employment Area Redevelopment Study is a review
of opportunities and constraints to redevelopment along Highway
7 between Jane Street and the CN Rail Yard area, including market
conditions, the potential need for site remediation, and the planning
framework and tools available to support redevelopment.
Five official plan amendments have been adopted by Council. The
lands subject to the amendments traverse the length of the Highway
7 corridor in the City of Vaughan, from Brampton in the west to
Richmond Hill in the east; and extend approximately 400 metres north
and south of the corridor. The amendments are based on the findings
of the two planning studies described above. The five amendments
amend the following existing Official Plan amendments on the Highway
7 corridor: OPA 450; OPA 240 (Woodbridge Community Plan); OPA 345;
OPA 500 (Vaughan Corporate Centre); and OPA 467.
