Did You Know?
- Vaughan is named after Benjamin Vaughan, a co-negotiator of
the Peace of Paris. That treaty ended the American Revolutionary
War (1775-1783)
- Famous Vaughnites include Lord Beaverbrook, Elizabeth Arden
and many of the Group of Seven artists lived in Thornhill.
- The site where Vaughan City Centre is emerging was once called
the Village of Edgely. Here Pennsylvania German settlers developed
shingle mills, cider mills and sawmills.
