Welcome to the City of Vaughan. As we look to the future of our growing City, I am inspired by the renewed sense of energy that is evident everywhere in our community. In the heart of the citizens of Vaughan lies a desire to realize the full potential of our City. The diversity of our people is unified by the belief that we must strive to do our best. Our commitment to change is derived from the strength of our conviction that we can create a fulfilling future - one where the social, economic and cultural essence of our community will flourish, inspiring a truly remarkable renaissance of civic pride.

Like the vast majority of Vaughan residents, I believe that tomorrow can be better than today and that we all collectively have a responsibility to make it so. In our future I see a community that will be praised for its character and integrity, respected for its spirit of innovation in the areas of health care, education and transportation, acclaimed for its responsible planning and economic leadership, admired for its environmental stewardship, renowned for its first class administration and transformed by the will of people to be agents of change, placing Vaughan at the forefront of 21st century cities capable of capturing the imagination of the world. Together, we must seize this moment. A time and place where our desire for change intersects with our willingness to use our energy to fulfill our destiny. I know we can, I know we will.
