Description of Services:

The Engineering Services Department is responsible for the expeditious review, approval and processing of municipal services for land development, undertaking traffic engineering and transportation engineering studies, designs and impact assessment.  The department is responsible for the planning, design and construction of municipal servicing capital projects including roads, sidewalks, street lighting, water mains, sanitary and storm sewers, service connections to private property, driveway curb cuts and storm water management.  Through the department's drafting section,  drafting services are provided to the department and the corporation and Geographical Information System applications relating to Development Services are developed.

Services:

• Review and comment on development and site plan applications (servicing & traffic)
• Prepare and administer Subdivision Agreements
• Review and Approve Construction Drawings
• Background Studies for Servicing and Transportation Components of Development Charges
• Traffic Sign design, construction, maintenance and repair
• Design and Administer pavements marking program
• Utility location approval - issue road occupancy permits
• Design, tender, construct municipal servicing capital projects
• Traffic data collection, analysis, report preparation
