Vaughan Firefighter Combat Team
including The World Champion Women's Relay Team

The Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service's Firefighter Combat Challenge Team consists of a group of the city's professional firefighters. In addition to their ongoing fire, rescue and first-aid training, these firefighters work to maintain top physical condition to better serve their community and to compete in the Challenge. The team travels throughout North America competing in events, striving to qualify for the World Championship!

The Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service's Firefighter Combat Challenge Team is looking forward to this year’s season. Vaughan is the current Women's Relay World Champions. They won their second straight title in Memphis, setting a new world record.  Firefighter Belanger is the current Canadian Champion and Firefighter Cox was the 2001 Canadian Rookie of the Year.  The men's team also has a third place finish in a US regional.

The team’s season starts off in Niagara Falls in June. The World Champion women's relay team will be racing and the men's relay team will makes it's debut.  Our rookies will be finding out if they have what it takes to compete in the Toughest Two Minutes in Sports.

The Combat Challenge is a great sport, an awesome incentive to get back into shape and has excellent camaraderie. The team has secured some sponsors to offset some of the team’s expenses. The team also participates in many fundraising events for local and national charities.
