Who does the hiring for summer
camps?
Human Resources does not assist in interviewing for summer
camps positions. You may contact the Department of Recreation
and Culture at 905-832-8500. Applications are released in
January. |

When does the Parks Department
hire Temporary Labourers?
The best time to submit a resume for Seasonal Temporary Labourer
hiring is in February and October. Under the current Collective
Agreement, positions are only for 6 months and will not exceed
the term. |

Training and Development
This important area ensures that we provide a variety of training
sessions that are relevant to employees and their work. In
addition, we provide developmental forums for employees to
continue to gain skills and abilities to apply to their work. |

Employee Benefits and Pension
As with most organizations, our employees are provided with
benefits to form part of their total compensation package.
In addition, all municipal employees belong to OMERS, an external
organization that administers their pension plan. This sections
assists employees with benefit administration and ensures
they are informed of current benefits coverage. |

Workplace Safety Insurance Board
Management
While this corporation has made safety a priority with the
employees, injuries do sometimes occur. This section ensures
that employees are offered modified work or modified hours.
Our employees are missed when they are absent from their jobs,
consequently we try to ensure they are back at work as soon
as possible while ensuring we accommodate any special medical
or health needs. |

Nursing Services
This section works closely with the departments to coordinate
rehabilitative employment. This involves dealing with medical
personnel to ensure that the employee's health needs are met.
In addition, nursing services offers wellness programs and
promotion, health screening services, information and ergonomic
assessments. |

Employment Administration
This area performs the basic services in order to assist employees.
For example, job descriptions and job evaluation, personnel
file management, employee assistance programs, awards for
long service, savings bonds, and various other programs to
enhance a person's employment. |

Attendance Management
This section maintains employee's attendance records and provides
corporate statistics as required. |

Crossing Guards
This area is responsible to coordinate School Crossing Guard
services for schools in the City of Vaughan. School Crossing
Guards are responsible to ensure the safe crossing of school
children at roadways. If there are any concerns, questions,
