Description of Services:

The City of Vaughan's Roads Section is responsible for the maintenance of over 640 kilometres of local roads throughout the City, comprising of both hard and gravel surfaces. For information relating to services performed by the City on these local roads, please contact the City of Vaughan's Public Works Department at 905-832-8562.

Major Arterial roads such as Yonge, Bathurst, Dufferin, Keele, Major Mackenzie, Langstaff, etc. are maintained by the Regional Municipality of York. For information pertaining to these major arterial roads, please contact the Region's Transportation and Works Department at (905) 764-6345.

Street Sweeping:

Sweeping begins mid April (weather permitting) and continues for approximately 3 weeks until all City roads are swept.

If you live in a new subdivision, it is the responsibility of the developer to keep the roads clean. Please contact the Engineering Department at 832-8525 should you have any concerns within a new subdivision.

Streetlighting:

The Roads Division maintains over 15,000 streetlights throughout the City. Repairs are completed during the day, therefore the exact location of the outage is required. Please provide:

Describe the location or closest address of the problem you are reporting.

If no address is available, please tell us the name of the street and which side of the street the light is on - (e.g., 3rd streetlight on south side of Clark Avenue, east of New Westminister Drive).

Curb & Sidewalk Repairs:

Curbs & sidewalks are inspected on a rotating basis and a database of locations is compiled. Repairs are completed during the fall. Please call if you know of a damaged section of curb or sidewalk that requires repair.
