In order to be approved as a supplier
or contractor, you will need to register on-line at www.city.vaughan.on.ca
, click on Government, Bidding Opportunities to arrive at
the Purchasing Services page. Click on REGISTER
AS NEW VENDOR OR UPDATE CURRENT REGISTRATION to get to
the registration page and follow the instructions given on
that page. The supplier can access the web site from any computer
with internet access. |

What methods are used by Purchasing
Services to obtain bids? |

There are various types of methods used;
Bid calls for goods, services, equipment and construction
are either; publicly advertised or by invitation. Bids are
classified as formal or informal depending on the estimated
value or complexity of the required item(s). Purchasing
Services has four (4) basic categories of bid calls;
Telephone/electronic submission
Formal/Informal quotations
Public tenders
Request for Proposal (RFP)

Information on current bid opportunities
can be accessed through the Purchasing Services web page and
click on VIEW
CURRENT BID OPPORTUNITIES. Bid opportunities can also
be accessed through Purchasing Services main line at (905)832-8555,
option #3 and listen to all current bids available. Public
tenders are also advertised in local and trade newspaper publications
in accordance with Purchasing policies. An updated version
is always available at the Purchasing Service office. |
